Workshop: AI Applied to Legal and Administrative Tasks

AI assistants can already draft, summarise and extract information from legal and administrative documents. Most professionals use them at a fraction of their capability. This one-day workshop closes that gap: three hands-on modules in which participants work on their own documents, and a short closing module on the rules that govern professional AI use. Participants learn to hand an AI assistant a complete multi-step task, to build a reusable assistant grounded in their own templates and house style, and to judge purpose-built legal AI tools. The workshop is tool-agnostic: each module teaches a technique and demonstrates it on a current tool as an example. It is intended for lawyers, in-house and corporate counsel, compliance officers, and the administrative staff of fiduciary practices. No coding and no prior AI experience required.

Content

Module 1 · Prompting 101: from asking questions to improving results
Module 2 · The reusable assistant: grounded in your own documents and house style
Module 3 · Specialist legal AI: the law library built in
Module 4 · The rules of the game: AI Act, GDPR and the Luxembourg layer

Learning Outcomes

1. Structure a complete multi-step AI task (extraction or drafting) on their own documents
2. Verify AI output against the source documents before relying on it
3. Configure a reusable AI assistant grounded in their own templates, precedents and house style
4. Evaluate a specialist legal AI tool on source traceability, jurisdiction coverage, data handling and cost
5. Select the appropriate tool tier when client or confidential data is involved

Additional Information
Participants should bring two or three of their own working documents (non-confidential or anonymised), for example a contract, a corporate resolution or an authority letter. Sample documents are provided for anyone who prefers not to use their own. Participants should have an active, registered account with at least one of the following AI platforms: ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
