Future-proofing Luxembourg’s IT landscape

Our Mission

The Digital Learning Hub is a public institution created to contribute to the government’s mission to close the digital skills gap by way of continuing education. We offer highly specialized courses in various sectors of IT to help citizens of the Greater Region reskill and upskill into the digital career of their choice.

Our Story

Luxembourg is currently experiencing a dire need of IT-trained specialists on the labour market. This digital skills gap generates some important challenges for the country to the point where the government has set out to take action. For this reason, the Digital Learning Hub (DLH) was launched in 2022 under the authority of the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth.

Courses and offer

Our course offer comes in three different structures: short courses, learning tracks, and a full curriculum. Short courses typically last between 4 to 30 hours spread out across one or several days, targeting one specific skill. Learning tracks are a set of complementary modules that make up a comprehensive program culminating into the acquiring of a specific skill set. These take up to several months to accomplish. Finally, a full curriculum is provided by 42 Luxembourg, a coding school for adults that provides a well-rounded training in programming leading to employment.

The Digital Learning Hub offers courses in cybersecurity, coding, blockchain, design, AR & VR, data & AI, IT & cloud, management, web development and no/low code. They come in various levels – whether one is a beginner looking for introductory training in coding or an expert in cybersecurity wishing to update their competencies, whether one wishes to reskill for the purpose of a career change or upskill to keep up with the job market’s demands, be it for professional or non-professional reasons, the Digital Learning Hub welcomes everyone of adult age without prerequisites.

The Digital Learning Hub shares its premises with 42 Luxembourg, a coding school that offers a full-time, comprehensive training in programming with view to long-term employment. Unlike a traditional school, 42 operates without teachers, classes or courses. The pedagogy is based on the principles of autodidacticism, project-based and peer-to-peer learning as well as gamification. This means the program is built on levels (like in a game) that one moves up by successfully accomplishing projects (based on real-life cases) that come with their own instructions. Programming is learned through practice with a mix of self-study and teamwork, thus developing the soft skills alongside the technical ones.

Other particularities include the fact that 42 is completely free of charge (no hidden fees), no degrees and no prerequisites in coding or math are needed to apply and, finally, the campus is open 24/7 (even during holidays) so students can work on their projects whenever it suits them best.

42 Luxembourg is part of the international 42 network whose headquarters are situated in Paris, where the very first 42 campus was founded in 2013. As of writing this, there are over 50 campuses in almost 30 countries. 42 enjoys an excellent reputation throughout the world, as it offers a professional training that gives one all the necessary tools to succeed on the competitive job market.
