Learning Track: Prepare to become a Certified Professional User Experience (CPUX)
The CPUX programme, developed by the international UX Qualification Board (UXQB), is a recognised standard for professional qualification in usability and user experience. Built on international ISO standards, established UX literature and the shared expertise of leading professional UX associations, it delivers practical knowledge and skills that can be applied directly in everyday work, and an internationally recognised certification that proves that expertise to colleagues, clients and employers.
Taught by the renowned experts Rolf Molich and Matthias Reisemann, both contributors to the CPUX curricula, this learning track covers four of the five curricula:
CPUX-F – Foundation in Human-Centred Design: Build a solid foundation in usability and user experience. This course introduces the key terms, concepts and processes that underpin every human-centred design project, giving you a shared vocabulary and a clear understanding of the full human-centred design (HCD) process — from planning through to evaluation. It is the ideal starting point for anyone entering the field, as well as for project managers, developers and other team members who want a common understanding of UX in interdisciplinary teams.
CPUX-UT – Usability Testing and Evaluation (Advanced Level): Develop the skills to rigorously evaluate user interfaces and demonstrate where they can be improved. Extending CPUX-F, this advanced course goes deep into usability evaluation with and without users. It is designed for anyone committed to ensuring their projects achieve a high level of usability.
CPUX-UR – User Requirements Engineering (Advanced Level): Learn how to capture what users really need and turn it into actionable requirements. Building on the CPUX-F foundation, this advanced course focuses on user research and requirements work — from planning and conducting research to specifying and prioritising user requirements. It is aimed at anyone whose role involves representing the needs of users within development projects.
CPUX-M – Essentials in UX and HCD Management: Learn how to advocate for UX and embed human-centred design in your organisation. This management-focused course helps you convey the importance and impact of UX to stakeholders, communicate effectively with senior management and project teams, and grow the human-centred design maturity of your organisation. It is well suited to UX consultants, UX managers and product owners.
Important: Certification is optional and not included in the learning track. You can participate to learn about the covered aspects and then decide at any time whether you would like to become certified at additional costs with an independent certification provider. Details are given in the courses.
