Building Cross-Platform Mobile Apps with Flutter

Flutter enables developers to create cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS from a single codebase. This practical course introduces the Dart programming language and Flutter’s declarative, widget-based architecture, with an emphasis on responsive user-interface development. It is intended for aspiring mobile application developers and software developers who have foundational programming knowledge and want to expand their skills into cross-platform mobile development.

Participants will explore application state management, screen navigation, REST API integration, asynchronous data handling, local data persistence, testing, debugging, and deployment preparation. Through guided development activities, they will apply professional project-structure principles and build functional Flutter applications aligned with common mobile-development practices.
Content
- Dart Fundamentals: Variables, Data Types, Control Flow, Functions, Null Safety, Classes, Futures, and Async/Await
- Flutter Development Environment: Flutter SDK, Android Studio, Visual Studio Code, Emulators, and Physical Devices
- Flutter Project Structure and Widget Tree
- Stateless and Stateful Widgets
- Responsive Layouts with Rows, Columns, Stacks, and Containers
- Material Design and Cupertino Components
- Navigation, Routing, and Data Transfer Between Screens
- Forms, Input Validation, Gestures, and Interactive Controls
- State Management with SetState, Provider, and Riverpod
- REST API Integration with HTTP and Dio
- JSON Parsing, Asynchronous Data, and FutureBuilder
- Local Data Persistence with SharedPreferences and SQLite
- Testing, Debugging, and Build Configuration
- Android and iOS Deployment Preparation
Learning Outcomes
- At the end of the training, learners will be able to write Dart code with variables, control flow, functions, classes, null safety, and asynchronous programming.
- At the end of the training, learners will be able to create responsive Flutter interfaces with stateless and stateful widgets, layouts, forms, navigation, and platform-specific design components.
- At the end of the training, learners will be able to manage application state with SetState, Provider, and Riverpod.
- At the end of the training, learners will be able to integrate REST APIs, JSON data, asynchronous operations, SharedPreferences, and SQLite into Flutter applications.
- At the end of the training, learners will be able to prepare Flutter applications for testing, debugging, Android and iOS builds, and app-store publication.
Training Method
Training methods include Lecture through presentations and live coding demonstrations, Real-world scenarios / examples, Practical exercises involving coding, debugging, and problem-solving, Group work through collaborative exercises and peer feedback, and Project-based learning through the progressive development of functional mobile applications.
Certification
Certificate of Participation
Prerequisites
Participants must have a basic understanding of programming concepts, including variables, data types, conditional statements, loops, functions, and object-oriented programming. They should also be familiar with using a code editor or integrated development environment and managing files and folders on their computer. No prior experience with Dart, Flutter, or mobile application development is required.
