Alteryx Designer – Fundamentals

The Alteryx Designer – Fundamentals course is designed to provide a strong foundation for tackling complex data challenges.

This two-day program is ideal for individuals who are new to Alteryx or for those who consider themselves beginners or semi-advanced users of Alteryx Designer. It is suitable for anyone who works with data, regardless of their level of experience in analytics - even those who are comfortable using Excel can quickly adapt to Alteryx Designer.

Discover the Alteryx Designer interface and learn the fundamentals of creating Low-code / No-code workflows. Gain insight into data analytics basics and master the art of working with your data effectively.

You will gain expertise in using a variety of frequently-utilized tools to connect, clean, aggregate, join, prepare and output data. This includes sorting, filtering and sampling large amounts of data.

You will tap into advanced functionalities of Alteryx Designer to highly automate repeatable workflows with Alteryx Macros such as Standard-, Iterative- and Batch- Macros. In addition, you will acquire the skills to develop Analytical Applications that enable users to modify workflow parameters in real-time, facilitating user engagement throughout the analysis process.

The course will cover various use cases and best practices for addressing typical data analytics obstacles. Additionally, you will be introduced to advanced functionalities like spatial analytics

Navigate the user interface
Identify Alteryx native file formats
Share and export workflows
Optimize workflows
Inputting/Outputting Data
Read and write data (e.g. create text input, navigate data connections, input/output data options)
Interpret common data types
Cleanse data using the Data Cleansing tool
Build formulas (e.g. reference formulas, conditional statements, indexes)
Filter and arrange data using tools: Select, Select Records, Sort, Filter, Unique, Sample
Perform unions, joins, and appends
Leverage the Find and Replace tools
Convert data string formats to and from date formats
Delimit data with the Text To Columns tool
Troubleshoot (e.g. duplication within joins, incompatible data types, mismatched fields)
