User Experience (UX): Opportunities and Career Paths in UX

User experience (UX) and customer experience (CX) UX have decisive impact on the success of products, services, and organisations. It is no surprise that a multitude of professions exist in this area: UX designers, UI designers, user researcher, UX managers, UX writers, and many more. Part 1: Introduction to User Experience and Customer Experience

• Understanding the field: usability, user experience, customer experience, user interface, accessibility, and more
• Overview of human-centered design

 

Part 2: Overview of job roles

• Taxonomy of UX and CX roles: managing/controlling and operational job profiles (design, research, concept, implementation)
• Introduction to roles: UX designers, UI designers, user researchers, UX managers, UX strategists, UX writers, UX architects, other job roles
• Key responsibilities, required skills, and career paths for each role.

 

Part 3: Career Paths & Skills


• Education, certifications, and resources.
• Importance of building a portfolio, different kinds of portfolios, and practical experience.

 

Part 4: Workshop – Guide to UX job roles

• Participants choose a role and gain a first impression of which skills they would need, and whether it would fit their current profile and interest

 

Part 5: Q&A and Closing Thoughts
