Building Your First AI Agent: A Hands-On Workshop
|
This full-day session is the hands-on companion to Understanding AI Agents (AG-A). Where the teaser showed you what agents are, this session shows you how to build one — and how to make it genuinely useful.
The day follows a structured build sequence. You start with context: an agents.md file that tells your assistant who you are, what you do, and how you prefer to work. You then add memory: a memory.md file that the agent updates as it learns your preferences. Finally, you build at least one reusable Skill — a workflow the agent can execute on demand.
Two workflows anchor the day. One is pre-designed and applicable to most professional roles: preparing a structured briefing from notes, calendar, and priority list. The second is drawn from the group: participants propose a workflow from their own work, and we build it together.
The session closes with each participant having a functional AI assistant configured for their role — not a demo, but something they can continue using after the session.
Completion of Understanding AI Agents (AG-A) is strongly recommended. No technical background required. |
Content
- Context engineering: building your agents.md — role, business context, preferences
- Memory systems: how to make your agent learn and improve over time
- Tool integration: connecting your agent to email, calendar, and documents
- Skills (SOPs for AI): building reusable workflows from your own professional tasks
- Capstone: your AI Executive Assistant — configured, tested, and ready to use
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this training, the participant will be able to:
- Create a structured agents.md file that configures an AI assistant for their professional role
- Build a memory.md system that enables the agent to retain and improve on preferences over time
- Construct at least one reusable Skill based on a recurring task from their own work
- Run a complete agentic workflow from task definition to a usable, professional-quality output
Training Method
Structured build sessions where participants construct each component of their AI assistant step by step, testing as they go. One pre-designed workflow and one participant-suggested workflow are built during the day.
Certification
Certificate of ParticipationPrerequisites
