Beginning your data analysis journey

This learning track is tailored to individuals who want to begin their data analysis learning journey. Using a familiar environment, MS Excel 365, students will learn basic concepts in descriptive statistics and the techniques needed to ingest, process and analyse data.

- Describe the key descriptive statistic metrics and apply them to exploratory data analysis for univariate and bivariate data exploration

- Construct Excel functions to perform data exploration and aggregation

- Show how to apply EXCEL to accomplish tasks in the data analysis cycle

• Excel for data ingestion
• EXCEL for split-apply-combine actions (data segmentation, Boolean indexing, conditional operations and aggregation)
• EXCEL for descriptive statistics: descriptive statistics functions
• EXCEL for linear regression and development of linear and logistic regression models
• EXCEL for visualizations: Learn when to use and how to customize key visualisations: scatter plots, bar plots, histograms, and cumulative frequency plots
