Interview Ready: How to succeed in IT Interviews
This 3-part training supports IT and digital jobseekers in developing the emotional intelligence skills they need to succeed in interviews. Participants will increase emotional self-awareness, learn how to manage pressure and uncertainty, and build trust through verbal and nonverbal communication.
Each session focuses on a key interview phase (preparation, live interview, and closing), using real-life tools and simulations. The training includes personal reflection, peer role-play, and the design of a personalized “Interview Toolkit.”
Content
Session 1: Preparation
- Introduction to emotions: basic emotions, the emotion triangle, and the neuroscience of emotions
- Emotional self-awareness: reflect on past interview experiences
- Emotion regulation tools for effective nervous system regulation
- Mapping emotional triggers and building a personalized pre-interview routine
Session 2: Interview
- First impressions: nonverbal signals of trust and confidence
- In-the-moment regulation: quick-fix tools
- Micro-expressions and recruiter cues: decoding interest, doubt, disengagement, etc
- Peer role-plays and feedback using live simulations
Session 3: Final Impressions
- Emotional dynamics of salary negotiation
- Managing closing moments of the interview with clarity and charisma
- Guided visualization: “Your next successful interview”
- Designing a personal “Interview Success Toolkit” with practical strategies and timing
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
