Certified Professional User Experience – User Requirements Engineering (CPUX-UR)
User requirements engineering identifies and formulates requirements for use. These user requirements are prioritised with further stakeholder requirements and the entirety of requirements are the basis for concept and prototype development. User requirements determine functionality of future systems based on user needs. Thus, user requirements make future systems and products user-centric and useful since they are based on user needs.
Content
In this training you will
- learn details and best practices of user requirements engineering.
- be able to decide what research approach and context of use process you best apply for different human-centred projects.
- learn to derive and prioritise relevant user needs and user requirements systematically and purposefully from the context of use.
- familiarises yourself with the terms, concepts and methods of user requirements engineering.
- go through theoretical units that are followed by practical exercises. Thus, you follow an exemplary path of user need identification, user requirements formulation, structuring along tasks models. The outcome is that basis for concept and prototype formation.
Learning Outcomes
- Understanding and execution of a user requirements engineering process.
- Since theory is usually difficult to implement straight away in day-to-day organisational work processes, you will take home fundamental understanding and perspectives to devise and implement your fitting step-by step approach towards user-centricity.
Training Method
- You will get a handout folder with all slides and exercises.
- All theoretical sections will be followed by practical exercises deepening understanding and giving first experiences.
- Also, theoretical sections are followed by exemplary questions. Theses multiple-choice questions will deepen your understanding. For all those, who will take the certification exam it will prepare you for the theoretical exam.
- The practical exercises follow exactly the same exam tasks as in the practical exam and give you a first-time experience going through a best practices user requirements engineering process.
Additional Information
This course is a preparation for the CPUX-UR certification. CPUX is a well-regarded and established UX certification. Certification is optional, not included in the course fee, and handled by an external, independent supplier. More information about the certification is available on the UXQB website. Participants who want to get certified must also have a CPUX-F certification (Foundation).Prerequisites
- A fundamental understanding of Human-centred Design (HCD) helps to fit user requirements engineering into the greater picture on HCD and product development. However, we will also give you sufficient information on HCD for a good understanding of the greater picture.
- To take the CPUX-UR certification you need the foundation certificate CPUX-F.
