Module 1: Network and security - Introductory level
The first module of this Learning Track addresses the fundamentals of systems and networks. The main themes covered in this module are:
- Introduction to systems and networks, systems administration, network administration
- Basic principles of cyber security and security of operating systems and networks
- Information security risk management concepts
- Security governance framework, roles within an organisation
- Threat, data, risk, interconnection and operations
This course is aimed at beginner cybersecurity practitioners. Participants should have foundational knowledge of information and communication technology. Please see the Prerequisites section of the course sheet for more details.
The course is based on the CompTIA Security+ and SSCP certification programs. Participants who complete this module plus Module 2 of this Learning track will be prepared to qualify for the CompTIA certifications.
