This immersive UX Writing training course is designed to empower writers, designers, and product teams to craft effective digital copy that guides, informs, and engages users. Through a blend of theory, hands-on exercises, and industry examples, participants will gain the skills to create content that meets user needs and enhances product usability.

The content of this course is based on industry requirements and standards, including insights from the UX Writing group of German UPA or Kinneret Yifrah’s Microcopy book.

Additional Topics and Exercises:

1. Content Prioritization Exercise: Practice structuring content by importance for different sections of an app, using the inverted pyramid technique.

2. User Personas for Tone Adjustment: Create a mini user persona and adjust copy style and tone to resonate with that persona.

3. Peer Reviews and Feedback: Throughout the training, conduct peer review sessions to provide constructive feedback on each other's copy.

4. Final Project: Over the last two days, teams develop UX copy for a final use case (e.g., onboarding flow, form messages, or help pages) and present their work with rationale and testing outcomes.

    Learners will develop the analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of microcopy and other text elements within digital interfaces. They will be able to identify strengths and weaknesses based on UX writing principles, ensuring all content aligns with user needs and brand tone.
  • Test Microcopy and Other Text Elements with Users
    By the end of the course, participants will be skilled in designing and conducting usability tests for microcopy and other UX text elements. They will be able to gather user feedback, interpret analytics, and suggest enhancements, resulting in more effective and user-friendly content.
  • Collaborate Effectively Across Product Teams
    Equipped with a strong understanding of UX writing workflows, learners will be prepared to work seamlessly with designers, developers, and product managers, ensuring cohesive and impactful product experiences.

Training Method

Our UX Writing training program is structured to maximize practical learning through a dynamic mix of hands-on exercises, quizzes, and real-world examples woven throughout each session. With an emphasis on active participation, exercises comprise approximately 50% of the course, giving participants extensive opportunities to apply their skills directly. In these practical sessions, participants work on exercises that mirror real-world scenarios, reinforcing key concepts and techniques. Individualized feedback from the coach on each exercise ensures that participants refine their approach, gain confidence, and develop a deep understanding of effective UX writing.

This course requires proficiency in English and comfort with computer systems. Participants should also have a basic understanding of UX concepts—such as those introduced in an introductory UX design course—to support deeper learning in UX writing principles and practices.
